Several stakeholder groups formed a year long panel to review literature and collaborate on identifying workplace factors that can impact work disability outcomes. They sought to explore the more recent body of evidence, which has shown that workplace factors not only correlate with injury rates, but also with the disability duration for workers who become ill, injured or physical or mentally impaired. Their end goal was to improve the future research of employer disability prevention strategies.
The results of their findings were revealed at the Hopkinton Conference Special Panel, and published in the article, Researching Complex and Multi-Level Workplace Factors Affecting Disability ad Prolonged Sickness.
