A new article in the Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy Journal written by a team including several physical therapists from WorkWell Prevention & Care warns that given the new research cited, physical therapists must proceed with caution in developing their test protocols. Their findings indicate that physical therapists should differentiate between the criteria predicting future health risks and the criteria indicating the risk of adverse events during physical exertion/functional testing.
